About the Song
Always was written in 1925 by Irving Berlin as a wedding gift to his (second) wife, Ellin. Instead of giving her jewelry or property, Berlin gave her a song — assigning all the royalties to her for life. Over the years, the tune has been recorded by countless singers, becoming one of the most cherished love songs of the Great American Songbook.

Why I Chose This Song
I love that Always was born out of a deeply personal expression of love. There’s something timeless about a man giving his heart through music, and I wanted to honor that spirit by including it in this series.
